It’s just about that time of year again when Celia gets giddy about baking sweet treats, and my family and I get to enjoy all her many decadent creations! This recipe is sure to satisfy that sweet tooth, and yet keep you right on track with all your wellness goals. And bonus it’s super simple and rather quick! Check it out.

Ingredients:

  • 2 Honey Crisp Apples
  • 3 T pasture butter
  • 1 t cinnamon
  • 1 T maple syrup
  • ¼ chopped pecans (optional)
  • 2 cups of Dr. brown approved coconut ice cream (optional)

Instructions:

Step 1: Preheat oven to 400F, wash, and peel apples.

Step 2: Core and slice apples in half.

Step 3:  Slice each apple half into pieces ⅛ inch thick

Step 4: Soften butter and add syrup and cinnamon. Whisk together.

Step 5: Drizzle over apples in a baking dish and cover with foil.

Step 6: Bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and brown on broil high for 2-3 minutes.  Add chopped pecans and ice cream and serve warm!
