July 4th is definitely one of my favorite holidays. Backyard cookouts, time with friends, fireworks… I love it all! But as with every holiday, I know I will once again face that temptation to overeat. Over the years I have learned that the best way to stay on track and not eat too much junk is to host the party myself. So if you are like me and planning your party menu, look no further. Here are seven paleo recipes that are sure to light up some taste buds this Independence Day!
The Starter
This unique spin on a classic app is sure to have your guests reaching for more!
The Mains
Grilled Chicken Kaboom sure beats typical plain grilled chicken as it bursts with flavor! If you like spicy, this dish is for you. If you need more mild or are feeding kids, make sure and go light on the red pepper sauce and red pepper flakes.
Kielbasa BBQ Kabobs are the perfect finger food that adds more protein to your spread!
The Sides
What is it about grilling veggies that make them taste so good!? The basil in this recipe adds just a little more flavor to make this side dish extra yummy!
Festive Fruit Tray
Since watermelon is a staple at any backyard cookout, what better way to serve them then as star cut outs on July 4th? All you need is a star cookie cutter, and then you have a simple side that makes for a fun addition. Add some blueberries and maybe some coconut whip cream to make your tray extra thematic.
The Dessert
Isn’t this All American Apple Berry Pie a beauty? Celia really outdid herself on this one! I can assure you it tastes just as good as it looks… and that’s saying a lot since I find it absolutely stunning!
The Beverages
Fancy Fruit Water
Jazz up your water with berry ice and bubbles! This sparkling essence water is light and refreshing. A great way to hydrate on what’s sure to be a hot day!
