Description

Salmon seasoned with homemade rub that combines paprika, chili powder, cumin, and cayenne. But only if you want a little spice in your life.

Scale

Ingredients

  • 4 — 4 oz. Salmon Fillets De-Boned and De- Skinned
  • 1 T Honey
  • 2 T Olive Oil, Divided
  • 1 t Paprika
  • 1 T Chili Powder
  • 1 t Cumin
  • Salt and Pepper to Taste
  • 1/8 t Cayenne Pepper, optional

Instructions

  1. In a shallow dish, combine honey and 1 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil and lightly brush onto each salmon fillet, flesh side up.
  2. In another shallow dish, combine chili powder, salt, pepper and cumin to make the dry rub. Using your hands, rub mixture onto the flesh sides of the salmon fillets.
  3. Heat a large iron skillet to medium-high heat. Add remaining 1 Tbsp olive oil. When hot, add salmon fillets skin side down and immediately reduce heat to medium-low. (If you have a splatter guard, I recommend placing it on top at this time.)
  4. Pan-sear salmon for 5 minutes, remove from stove and coat again with honey mixture again. place in preheated oven on 350f for 7-10 minutes depending on thickness. serve and enjoy.
