This delicious creation has all the tastes of Fall without any of the guilt! Apples, pears, pineapples, and cranberries are sprinkled with cinnamon, nutmeg, and pecans and drizzled with warm maple butter. It’s reminiscent of traditional apple pie but free of inflammatory foods like wheat and refined sugar. Keep this Dr. Brown approved recipe handy since the holidays are just around the corner, and this is one to satisfy that sweet tooth without falling off the healthy-eating wagon!
Ingredients:
  • 3 gala apples
  • 3 pears
  • 2 T pure maple syrup
  • ¼ t cinnamon
  • ½ t nutmeg
  • ¾ stick pasture butter
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 cup pineapple
  • 1 cup frozen whole cranberries
  • 1 c pecans

Instructions:
Preheat oven to 325F. Wash and slice apples and pears removing core.

Place in large bowl, and squeeze juice of half a lemon over fruit and toss well.

Add pineapple and cranberries to bowl.

Over low heat melt ¾ stick butter, and then add maple syrup.

Add nutmeg and ground cinnamon.

Stir well.

Pour butter mixture over fruit mixture and stir well.

Pour fruit mixture into casserole dish.

Zest lemon to approximately 1 t and sprinkle over fruit.

Zest cinnamon stick over top of fruit as well.

Place in oven for 25 minutes.

Chop pecans and sprinkle on top of fruit bake.
